Financial Literacy

Growing up in a community of color, I realized that one thing we lack in our education system is the understanding of money and how it can work for us.  Financial literacy is a tool that youth across the nation overwhelmingly lack, and yet will have to face head on throughout their lives. From student loans, to credit cards, our communities need help understanding the ins and outs of wealth, credit, loans and so much more. Americans are burdened by student loans and credit card debt now more than ever, and much of this comes from the misuse and lack of understanding of money. We should be teaching our kids about money, stocks and bonds, credit cards utilization and how to apply for loans. Let’s work to create generational wealth, let’s make our money work for us!
